Join Paula Boo, a local Island fibre artist, as she teaches you widely used coiling basketry using natural and hand-dyed raffia, and sterling silver jewellery findings to create your own individual piece(s).
Paula is an artist, musician and environmental scientist by trade. She uses a variety of traditional and innovative weaving techniques, styles and materials, mainly working with natural fibres. Her workshops involve sharing her knowledge with others whilst teaching new techniques that will enable contemporary expressions of weaving as a vital art form.
The workshop takes place at Straddie Brewing Co. on North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah). Let your hands work, whilst you take in the magnificent panoramic views of Moreton Bay.
The workshop takes 2.5 hours, and is suitable for guests aged 14 years+
